The Long Road Home

Commissioned by the Southern California Brass Consortium in 2014 and transcribed for concert band in 2016, The Long Road Home follows a soldier returning from war. A patriotic opening theme gives way to memories of fallen comrades and the violence of battle before returning to the soldier’s enduring optimism and pride in service.
